BETA: Chrome-based version of LockDown Browser

Known Issues

  • The tool bar left-arrow button for navigating back to the previous page does not work in Blackboard and Canvas at this time
  • QuickTime .qti and .mov files: Apple's QuickTime must be installed to support these formats. The Blackboard Learn question editor creates HTML for embedded media that is not compatible with Chrome LockDown Browser. To work around this add the .qti/.mov files as links instead of embeds, or create and upload questions using Respondus 4.0.
  • Calculator use and printing must be enabled using the Instructor Dashboard as an exam setting, the {calc}, {scalc} and {print} tags in exam questions used with earlier versions of LockDown Browser will be ignored.

Versions August 17, 2015

  • Angel support added August 6, 2015

  • Support for Lab-only application whitelist
  • Lab Edition supports a command-line switch /X "folder" to extract the InstallShield setup for use in silent installs.
    Example: LockDownBrowserLab-190-14.exe /X "c:\temp\lab-19014"
This will extract the setup files to c:\temp\lab-19014. For this example c:\temp must already exist, and c:\temp\lab-19014 must not exist. July 7, 2015
