Respondus Supports WebCT Vista Platform

In case you haven't heard, Respondus recently added support for WebCT Vista 2.0 and higher. The Vista integration is available to institutions that have a Respondus Campus-wide License.

The latest upgrade of the campus-wide version of Respondus (version 2.0.6) contains the WebCT Vista integration. If you haven't already upgraded to version 2.0.6, go to the Help menu in Respondus and click "Check for Update." Once the update is downloaded and installed, select the WebCT Vista "personality" on the Start menu.

If you are familiar with how Respondus integrates with WebCT Campus Edition, you'll quickly see that Respondus integrates in a similar fashion with WebCT Vista. You may need to spend a few minutes learning about the new question types that are available in WebCT Vista but most other operations in Respondus will be about the same.

Moving an exam from a WebCT CE course to a WebCT Vista course is easy. You simply "Retrieve" the exam from the WebCT CE server, change the "personality" in Respondus to WebCT Vista, and then publish the exam to the WebCT Vista server.

Finally, it's also worth noting that the Respondus integration with Vista relies almost entirely on web services that are contained within WebCT Vista. That means that upgrades to WebCT Vista won't likely impact how the Respondus software works with it.
