Publisher Test Banks Available in Respondus Format

Respondus-formatted test banks are available for many of the leading textbooks in higher education, with hundreds more to be added in the coming months. Instructors who adopt a participating textbook can download the Respondus-formatted test bank using their Respondus software.

Requesting a Test Bank
Instructors who adopt a participating publisher textbook can obtain the Respondus-formatted test bank by following three easy steps:

1) Go to http://www.respondus.com/testbank/search.php and search for the textbook that has been adopted.

2) Fill out the adoption request form and submit it.

3) Once the publisher partner has authenticated the request, you will receive an e-mail that contains the information needed to download the test bank using your Respondus software.

Downloading the Test Bank

The e-mail you receive from the publisher will include the file code and password needed to download the Respondus-formatted test bank. Start your Respondus software, select Open, and click the “Download Test Bank” button. Then enter the information the publisher provided to you. The test bank will download directly to your Respondus Projects folder.

Do you want to see how this works? A flash demo movie Downloading a Publisher Test Bank is available at http://www.respondus.com/products/demos.shtml.

Once You Have the Test Bank

Once the publisher test bank is downloaded, the easiest way to select questions for an exam is to use the Respondus Exam Wizard. The flash demo movie The Respondus Exam Wizard at http://www.respondus.com/products/demos.shtml shows how this works

After the exam is created, it takes just seconds to publish it to a Blackboard, eCollege, or WebCT course. You can even print the exam or use it with an IMS QTI-compliant e-learning system.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a cost to obtain the Respondus-formatted test banks?
No. As long as you are an instructor who meets the adoption criteria of the publisher, there is no additional cost for the Respondus-formatted test bank.

What if the test bank for the textbook I use isn't listed as being available (or forthcoming) on the Respondus website?
After doing a search at http://www.respondus.com/testbank/search.php select the "Suggest a Test Bank" link and submit the form. This information is passed along to publishers to help them decide which test banks they should make available in Respondus format. It may also help to contact the publisher directly and let them know that you'd like a particular test bank in Respondus format.

Are all publisher test banks that are available in Respondus format listed on the Respondus website?
No. Some publishers prefer to distribute their Respondus-formatted test banks using different methods. Since these test banks aren't listed on our web site, it's sometimes necessary to ask your publisher representative whether their test banks are indeed available in Respondus format.
