Resources for Respondus and StudyMate Campus-wide Licenses

Many resources are available to institutions that have a campus-wide license of Respondus or StudyMate.

  • Flash Demonstration and Training movies - A series of Flash movies are available from http://www.respondus.com/products/screens.shtml. These movies are often used by institutions to introduce and train instructors on the use of the software.
  • Quick Start Guides - All Respondus products have Quick Start Guides which are 1-4 page overviews of the key features needed to get up-and-running. For new users, this is the best place to start.
  • Online Help - Online help is available from within the Respondus and StudyMate applications. Context-sensitive help is available by pressing the F1 key. Or, go to Help > Help Topics to access the main help system.
  • User Guides - User guides are available from http://www.respondus.com/products/userguide.shtml. The user guides are provided in MS Word format to make it easy to edit/add information that pertains to the licensing institution.
  • Knowledgebase & Support - A knowledgebase for each product is available at http://www.respondus.com/support/index.shtml. If a problem cannot be resolved using the product documentation (eg. user guide) and if the knowledgebase doesn’t offer a solution, a support ticket can be submitted from this same area.
  • Newsletter Articles - Our newsletter archive (http://www.respondus.com/update/index.shtml) offers dozens of tips on how to make the best use of Respondus, StudyMate, and the Respondus Test Bank Network. (Note: You are welcome to borrow and modify these articles for your own training materials.)
  • Respondus Test Bank Network - One of the best ways to get instructors "up and running" with online testing is to introduce them to the Respondus Test Bank Network. Here instructors will find test banks for hundreds of the leading textbooks in higher education. The test banks are in a ready-to-use format and can be downloaded with Respondus or StudyMate for FREE by instructors who adopt a participating textbook. More information is available at http://www.respondus.com/testbank/index.shtml.
  • Distributing Software to Faculty - We are often asked "What is the best way to distribute the Respondus (or StudyMate) setup program to instructors?" The main requirement is that the setup applications and activation passwords be distributed from a password protected area. (That is, you shouldn't place these materials on a web page that is accessible by anyone on the World Wide Web.) Most institutions will make these materials available from an intranet that requires authentication. Another popular approach is to place the setup applications and passwords in an online course that all faculty have access to. Both approaches work quite well.
  • Desktop Management Software - If your institution uses Desktop Management Software such as Altiris or Microsoft SMS to “push out” updates or licensing keys to computers, click here to learn more about how to use this with Respondus and StudyMate.
