StudyMate Class Features
Overview of Features:
- An active learning environment where students practice with activities that reinforce their knowledge of core concepts and terms
- Three templates for entering content, such as facts (from a lecture), glossary terms (from a textbook), or multiple choice questions
- Several activities parallel each template, ranging from flash cards to quizzes to full-featured game shows
- Students can choose the activities that appeal to their learning style
- Items can be reviewed, edited and shared by classmates
- Students can be graded on participation or their actual contributions; scores appear
in the Blackboard gradebook
- Multiple choice questions created by students can be copied directly to Blackboard's assessment tool and used in online tests
- Items can be imported from StudyMate Author or Respondus
- Items can be exported for use in other StudyMate Class projects, or with StudyMate Author and Respondus
- Multiple languages can be selected for the user interface including English, Spanish, Dutch, Finnish, French, and German

StudyMate Class "Lite"
A free Lite version contains much of the core functionality of StudyMate Class.1 At the end of the 3-month pilot period for StudyMate Class, institutions can either purchase a license for the full version of StudyMate Class or switch to the Lite version for free. To participate in a pilot program, the license administrator of your institution's Blackboard Learning System should fill out and return the StudyMate Class License Agreement.

2. StudyMate Class is a hosted service with data stored on the institution's Blackboard server. To enable faster interactions, a cache of the project data is stored temporarily on a Respondus server. Institutions in Canada will be hosted on a Canadian-based server.
3. Questions containing media files and HTML are excluded; only Multiple Choice and True-False questions are retained from Respondus files.
