StudyMate Class Feature List
Overview of Features:
- Three simple templates for entering content, such as facts (from a lecture), glossary terms (from a textbook), or multiple choice questions
- Several activities parallel each template, with 11 different activities in all (Fact Cards, Fact Cards Plus, Flash Cards, Pick a Letter, Fill in the Blank, Glossary, Matching, Crosswords, Quiz, Challenge, and Show All)
- Students can choose the activities that appeal to their learning style, engaging them with course content
- Both instructors and students can create, edit and review items
- Seamless integration with Blackboard, ANGEL and Moodle (via a Blackboard Building Block or PowerLink, ANGEL Learning Object, or Moodle Module)
- Students can be graded on participation; scores appear in the learning management system gradebook
- A special project type, called MyStudyMate, allows students to work independently and only view items they’ve created
- StudyMate Class activities are customized for mobile devices, including the iPhone, iPod touch, Android, BlackBerry, Palm Pre, and more
- Multiple choice questions created by students can be copied directly to the learning management system’s own assessment tool and used in online tests
- Items can be imported from Respondus, StudyMate Author, and other StudyMate Class projects
- Items can be exported for use in other StudyMate Class projects, or with StudyMate Author and Respondus
- Multiple languages can be selected, including English, Spanish, Dutch, Finnish, French, and German
- The Quick Start Guide includes "teaching scenarios" that help faculty implement StudyMate Class effectively
- Mouse-over instructions are available throughout the application
