The Respondus 3.5.4L patch is only intended for those who already installed Respondus 3.5 (to upgrade from Respondus 3.0 download the full install). You do not have to apply earlier patches before applying the Respondus 3.5.4L patch. In addition, all patches are immediately incorporated into the full installation programs that are available from this website, so it's not necessary to apply a patch if you have downloaded and installed the latest installation program from this website. A detailed list of the issues related to this patch appears at the bottom of this page.

Download the appropriate version of the patch from the links below. Once the patch is downloaded, double-click the file to run a short unzip process that replaces the original Respond.exe file.

All Course Management System "Personalities"

• A problem with downloading some test banks with very long chapter names has been corrected
• Support for importing MS Word 2007 ".docx" files has been added

Blackboard (Classic) Personality

• Blackboard 9 support has been added for the Publishing and Retrieve Questions tasks (Download Data and Reports will be added in Respondus 4.0 this Summer)
• Blackboard 9 support is improved in 3.5.4L over version 3.5.4k, adding support for additional authentication methods, custom course list modules, and custom content areas
• A Blackboard 7.x-8.x grading issue has been resolved when questions use points with 2 decimal digits (eg. 1.25)
• Support for Version 8 of the Blackboard Learning System has been improved, including support for ProSites and CAS version 3

WebCT Vista 4 - 8 / CE 6 Personality

• Support for Version 8 of Vista has been added

• Imports of MS Word ".doc" files now allow inclusion of Auto-Numbered and Auto-Lettered lists
• A problem with importing multiple choice questions when answer choices only contain images has been corrected
• The "Save As" function from the File menu includes several export enhancements including StudyMate Class Server and iPod Quiz formats
• The administrator for the Campus-wide license can now pre-set the server publishing settings for instructors

ANGEL Personality

• A fix was added to allow the publishing of questions that contain accented characters in the question titles or in Fill in the Blank answers
• A problem with publishing audio-video files has been fixed

Blackboard (Legacy) Personality

• A problem with retrieving Calculated, Fill in Multiple Blank, and Jumbled questions that have HTML formatting around bracket variables has been resolved
• A problem retrieving assessments that contain more than 50 random blocks has been corrected
• In the Retrieve Questions task, a problem that triggers a "DynaZip error" was resolved
• The Retrieval task now supports the downloading of surveys from Blackboard Enterprise 7.1 and higher

eCollege Personality

• A publishing problem with Fill in the Blank questions that contain answers having "&" or "< >" symbols has been resolved
• The Publish Wizard now displays term/semester separators between course names

IMS QTI Personality

• There is improved handling of special and accented characters in exports

WebCT Vista 3 Personality

• The Publish task now includes a "Course List Optimizer" that may improve the publishing speed on some Vista 3 servers

WebCT Vista 4 - 8 / CE 6 Personality

• A problem with "All or Nothing" grading for Multiple Response questions has been resolved
• A problem with retrieving Calculated, Fill in Multiple Blank, and Jumbled questions that contain HTML formatting around bracket variables has been resolved
• The Retrieve Reports task has been modified to reduce server timeout errors
