Your consent

By continuing to use and navigate our sites, services, applications, tools or messaging, you are agreeing to our use of cookies, web beacons and similar technologies as described herein and in our Privacy Policy. You have a number of options to control or limit how we and our partners use cookies and similar technologies with your visit to or use of our sites, services, applications, tools or messaging. See the options below which are available to you to control our, or our service provider's, use of these technologies.

What are cookies, web beacons and similar technologies

These technologies are essentially small data files placed on your computer, tablet, mobile phone or other device (collectively, a "device") that allow us to record information when you visit or interact with our websites, services, applications, messaging, and other tools. Though often these technologies are generically referred to as "Cookies," each functions slightly differently, and is better explained below:

Cookies: These are small text files (typically made up of letters and numbers) placed in the memory of your browser or device when you visit a website or view a message. Cookies allow a website to recognize a particular device or browser. There are several types of cookies:

When you enter a website that uses cookies, you may be asked to fill out a form providing personal information; like your name, e-mail address, and interests. This information is packaged into a cookie and sent to your browser (Chrome, Firefox, etc.), which then stores the information for later use. The next time you go to the same website, your browser will send the cookie to the server. The message is sent back to the server each time the browser requests a page from the server.

Web beacons: small files (also called "pixels", "image tags", or "script tags") that may be loaded on our sites, applications, and tools, that may work in concert with cookies to identify our users and provide anonymized data on their behavior.

Similar technologies: Technologies that store information in your browser or device utilizing local shared objects or local storage, such as flash cookies, HTML 5 cookies, and other web application software methods. These technologies can operate across all of your browsers, and in some instances may not be fully managed by your browser, but may instead require management directly through your installed applications or device.

Our Use of These Technologies

Below are the ways we and our partners use these technologies with our Services, including the purpose of such use:

Preferences - To help us remember your settings and preferences, such as your preferred language or the country you are in, so that we can provide you with a more personalized experience.

Authentication and Security - To log you into the Services; enable us to show you your account data; and help us keep your data and the Services safe and secure.

Service Features and Performance - To provide you with functionality and optimize the performance of the Services.

For example: The Administrator Area of Respondus.com com uses session cookies that allow the user to navigate from one page to the next without having to login again for each page.

Analytics, Customization and Research - To help us understand how you are using the Services so that we can make them better, faster, and safer. This can also include the ability for us to customize your experience on our website.

For example: Cookies allow our website to identify when you have visited a particular webpage a certain number of times and therefore offer you a related training resource.

Advertising - To make advertising messages more customized and relevant for you, including measuring performance of advertising, customizing based on your interests, and enabling partners to serve advertisements for our products and services.

Your Choices

You have a number of options to control or limit how we and our partners use cookies and similar technologies, including for advertising.

Please note: We do not track our users over time and across third-party websites to provide targeted advertising, so Respondus' Services do not respond to "Do Not Track" signals.
